Equal Housing Opportunity

Nova Property Group is committed to equal housing opportunity. As a real estate investment company that buys and sells residential property, we follow the federal Fair Housing Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (LAD), and the New York State and New York City Human Rights Laws, and we expect the same of everyone we work with.

The federal Fair Housing Act

It is illegal to discriminate in the sale, rental, financing, or advertising of housing because of race, color, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), national origin, familial status, or disability.

The New Jersey Law Against Discrimination

New Jersey law goes further. In real estate transactions, the LAD also prohibits discrimination based on characteristics including creed, ancestry, nationality, marital status, civil union or domestic partnership status, gender identity or expression, affectional or sexual orientation, pregnancy or breastfeeding, source of lawful income or rent subsidy, and liability for service in the Armed Forces.

New York State and New York City law

When we buy or sell in New York City, the New York State Human Rights Law and the New York City Human Rights Law also apply. Together they prohibit housing discrimination based on characteristics including age, creed, citizenship or immigration status, marital or partnership status, military status, lawful source of income, and status as a victim of domestic violence. New York City's law also covers lawful occupation, height, and weight.

Our commitments

  • We make offers based on the property and the numbers, never on the owner's race, religion, national origin, or any other protected characteristic.
  • We offer opportunities to every buyer on our list on the same terms, regardless of any protected characteristic.
  • Our advertising describes properties and our process, not the kind of person who should buy or live there.
  • We provide reasonable accommodations for sellers and buyers with disabilities.
